Headteacher's Welcome
May I wish you a warm welcome to our school website. My name is Mrs. Monaghan and I am proud to have the privilege of being Headteacher at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.
We are uniquely different as a Catholic school. Prayer, worship, Gospel values and the celebration of Mass as well as preparation to receive the Sacraments are central to what makes us a Catholic school. Jesus is at the centre of all our work, relationships and dealings with each other.
We are also part of Mater Ecclesiae Multi Academy Trust which enables us to collaborate with other Catholic schools within Preston.

Vision and Values
Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens. Our vision is to send children on from St Joseph's equipped with the skills they need in life: being literate in Reading, Writing and Maths as well as emotionally and socially equipped to face life's journey.
We have the values of the Gospel and morality at the core of all we do both academically and socially. We have Christ at the centre, whilst embracing children, families and staff from all other creeds and cultures. We do all this to develop and nurture well rounded individuals and because we care for our future leaders of tomorrow.
Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Trust
Mater Ecclesiae is one of three Catholic Multi Academy Trusts (CMATs) formed by the Diocese of Lancaster to protect, preserve, nourish and enhance the Catholic religion through the establishment, maintenance and development of Catholic schools.
Mater Ecclesiae was formed in 2022 and currently consists of 17 Catholic primary schools and one Catholic secondary school. In geographical terms, the Trust extends across Preston and rural Preston and all are within the local authority area of Lancashire. We currently have 287 staff and educate over 2,200 children and young people in our care. Our head office is located in Fulwood, Preston.

Safeguarding
St Joseph's Catholic Primary school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We have a number of polices and procedures in place that contribute to that commitment. These can be viewed in this section of the website and under key information/polices.
We actively support the Government's Prevent agenda to counter radicalisation and extremism.
